Welcome to the E-learning environment of the Discus Project Minimize

5 secondary schools in 5 countries teamed up to work on a European project called "Discus".

Sport is a deep expression of the cultural roots of a region. A game is often played only locally. There are rivalries between local teams or national teams. By doing sports, we influence our environment, as all our actions have environmental impacts.

Looking at these and other aspects of sports is the aim of the project “DISCUS: Diversity Inspires: Sports & Culture Unites Students”, in which five schools work together. Project meetings in all involved countries will highlight a different aspect of one of the links between sports and culture.

Practicing sports is of equal importance. At each meeting, a local traditional sport will be presented by the host school. Afterwards, the schools will compete in a small tournament actively practicing the newly rediscovered sport.
The working results will be presented on this common interactive website which contains interactive working material, a webblog and video footage of the practised sports.

Through the active common work, we hope to foster understanding for other nations, thereby confirming the overall tagline: Sport unites!
